Yet more completely brilliant analysis from this author, but what we most need right now is to "reform" the existing economic system (i.e., the set of institutions via which the process of producing/acquiring goods/services proceeds). For any nation, merely starting on that path would transform its politics. Besides, the survival of civilization--life as we know it--depends on it.

Beyond that, we need to replace ideology/theology with a completely rational approach to justice for governing governance. As long as the former are employed for that purpose, concerning that most fundamental need there will only be endless, incessant "contests of power" (M. Foucault) driven by beliefs--always in danger of being hijacked by personalities.
