What is not debatable is that AI lacks emotions, and art, while it can 'do' other things, is most fundamentally an attempt to affect the emotions of other humans through imagery. Obviously, even to try to make such a connection (even if really badly/unsuccessfully) a creator of art must first of all have emotions.
