Yeah, that article was written by a gentile to other gentiles who believe Jesus had a universal message from God. Appropriation, accuracy, and such are other topics. I personally take a wholistic, 'spirit of the thing' view of that message: the message as I understand it is not explicitly related in the Gospels.

Yet, according to the Gospels, Jesus did say and do things that indicated that his message was for all people. Besides, were not the Hebrews' assigned the task of demonstrating to the world why all people should accept that their God is the God? That would mean that there was already a universalist impetus in Judaism--based on example (including victory in warfare). Finally, even if gentiles do appropriate that message, does that make it invalid as a message?

I do agree that insitutional 'Christianity' is mostly Paulianity.
