Would it not be accurate to say that in a nutshell it all boils down to mutual respect as the ethic of justice? Our accepted view of a just society entails liberty and equality. A requirement of mutual respect follows from equality. A society governed by mutual respect would maximize the liberty that co-existing people can share simultaneously. The point is that we don't have that far to go in our ideas about justice to become a far more just nation.
