"Woke" is a 'term of convenience', like 'capitalism'. It can be defined almost any way. In a serious discussion, it is only necessary that the person using the term make the definition that person is using clear.

Politically, 'woke' is a substitute for 'liberal'. It is a term of convenience 'conservatives' (nowadays, nascent fascists) have found they can use to--literally--criminalize the liberal political ideology.
