What is needed most is not a better leader, but a better idea. For humanity, the best possible 'better idea' is an advance in our understanding of justice.

People who want to preserve liberty for all and our democratic political process — and solve our societal economic problems — need to stop wringing their hands and wailing their lamentations while waiting for things to turn for the better with no other effort on their part, and start advocating for mutual respect as the ethic of justice to govern the governance of this nation — particularly its implications for the economy.
