Well, I'm not a doctor (though I do have an M.A. in the subject), but I have developed a cure: "Paradigm Shift" (here in Medium, but not behind the paywall). As any actual solution must be, this proposal is revolutionary--but it transforms the outcomes for society of the existing economic system. It does not call for replacing that system with something else.

It focuses on money (as currency being supplied to the economy). The result is increased sustainability because total output is governed by demographics, with no unemployment or poverty at any level of total output--among other good things (including the option of ending taxation/public debt for funding government). That negates the political imperative that currently exists in every nation to maximize total output in order to maximize employment, total income, and the collection of taxes.

I'm seventy years old. I've had a life. At this point, anyone under sixty who is not totally focused on finding a solution as fast as possible and advocating for it as fervently as possible is a complete fool.
