We obviously need a major adjustment to the existing system, for the sake of justice, economic stability, and sustainability. I have discovered how we could do all of that by making the pay for all people employed in any business or government the supply of money (as currency) for the economy. Differing, unlimited in-kind benefits accruing to different positions could still be allowed.
