We absolutely need some better process for bringing new ideas for the betterment of society--and the world--to the fore. That is the inherent advantage a democracy is supposed to have, but we are squandering it.

Actually, finding and publishing new ideas is supposed to be one of the primary functions of the established media, but they have completely abdicated that responsibility.
