Very interesting: I have wondered whether more people would be accepting of the message of Jesus if his followers had spoke and written about him as a human being who had drawn so close to God that he did, indeed, die as the 'Son go God' (rather than attributing to him a bunch of mystical conditions, like being born of a virgin and being resurrected, each of which requires its own leap of faith to accept). He literally simply set out walking, never to turn back, with absolutely nothing but his faith in God to sustain him, and grew ever more powerful for it as he went.
