Too many people with too much money in their hands: I mostly agree with this author's assessment of crypto-so-called-currencies, but without their existence what would the prices of housing be today? It isn't just those virtual 'assets' that are the subject of unproductive speculation: all buying merely for the sake of selling for a profit warps the economy in more ways than one.
