Three things are necessary for the success of the initial recording project of a particular performer: the performer, the recording itself, and marketing. For that, each part should get an even share (1/3). If the initial project is commercially successful, the performer is established as a 'name', and should get more of the royalty on future recordings (though marketing is still necessary), so maybe 45% (roughly a third of the third for marketing).

Re. the broader philosophical statement at the very end of the article: money is power, so justice requires applying the "democratic distributive principle" to money via a "democratically distributed income." The benefits to society would be astonishing.
