The real problem isn’t some people having more than ‘enough’. The real problem is some people — including people who work full-time (and more) for the minimum wage and retirees who worked full-time their whole adult lives — not having ‘enough’.
Heretofore, the only solution anyone has proffered is to take from those with more than the minimum of ‘enough’ to help those who have too little. There is a better way.
That better way is a “democratically distributed income.” It would absolutely, positively eliminate unemployment and poverty. The same process could be used to eliminate all taxes and public debt. It could be instituted, in the U.S., with a single Act of Congress. It is a kind of permanent QE for the masses.
Which is more important, to take from ‘the rich’ or to solve the problem of poverty?
Anyone who thinks solving the problem of poverty is more important — while accomplishing other good things, too, without any hidden costs—really should take “5 min” to read this essay here in Medium. (There I refer to the income, more neutrally, as the “allotted income.”)
Then tell your friends about it.
