The problem with a UBI is that it solves nothing. Even the most generous UBI I have ever seen proposed, paid for via taxation, would not end poverty. A DDI (“democratically distributed income”), on the other hand, would provide the means to eliminate unemployment and poverty — and taxation and public debt as well. It is simply a better approach to a minimum income. There is no (rational) reason for anyone who is in favor of a minimum income to be against it.
