The biggest difference with MMT is that in this paradigm the supply of money does not involve debt. It is more similar to a permanent QE for (eligible) citizens and (if the option were chosen) government. UBI involves taxes; the DDI does not — and in fact this paradigm offers a way to end all taxation.
