That's a whopping big thesis in a few hundred words, but I definitely get that. To quibble about details would be ostentatiously pedantic.
It turns out that we don't have to reinvent the economic system to solve our problems. The existing one will do.
The key is money/income, not private property. It was the transition from feudalism and slave-based production to the Modern economy that made money more important than property (“3 min read” here in Medium, but not behind the paywall). People like Marx couldn't see that change in the midst of that transition, but by now it is clear.
