That sounds like the voice of experience. I think unproductive speculation is the worst of all. I have never had any dealings with a venture capitalist, but I think I can imagine what it must be like. Still, they are involved in productive speculation of some kind. I regard Galbraith as the best 'popular' economist, and especially as a writer.
