Thank you for that insightful and informative essay. I agree (as I think you suggest) that Rand does provide food for thought, but that no one should take what she offers to be the staff of life. To me she is like John Locke, as described by Bertrand Russel: “successful” because she firmly ignores the holes in her thinking. That makes her very convincing for people seeking nothing more than external validation for their beliefs.
