I'm hoping you might find interesting a paradigm I developed that would provide money (as currency) for the economy without using debt: "For Crying Out Loud, ACCEPT That A SOLUTION Actually EXISTS" (a "3 min read"--including options for further reading--here in Medium). [If it matters, I do have an M.A. in economics.] My frustration has hit hyper-drive.
The size of the supply of money would be determined by demographics--and only that (as would total spending by government). Total output would thereby be governed, passively but effectively, by demographics. Banks would still do their thing, but the supply of money (as currency) would be outside the control of any person, committee, group, or organization.
