I’ve read that Jesus was influenced by Buddhism. I don’t care one way or the other, but I have been struck by the similarities between the teachings of Jesus (as opposed to some interpretations of his words) and the Buddha. Above all, both are absolutely apolitical, focusing entirely on the person. I do wish the self-proclaimed Christians among us would grasp that.
