Thank you for a necessary exposition. I thought you might be interested in a minimum income I have developed, a “democratically distributed income” (DDI). It would not be paid to everyone, but would be available for an unlimited number of people. It overcomes the cost problem because it would be free: it would be created as needed, with the total of the DDI being the supply of money (as currency) for the economy. [For the record, I do have an M.A. in economics.] If your curiosity exceeds your skepticism, you could start with a “3 min. read” here in Medium, “DDI: A Minimum Income That Performs Like a Right.” It is easy to envision a ‘public service corp’ in which all citizens would be employed for two years performing the tasks you describe (by lottery, say for a minimum of six months at a time, and also including service in the armed forces) being paid that income.
