Thank you. I had wondered where Mr. Corbyn’s enmity for the EU (or that of anyone on the left, for that matter) had come from.

I am convinced that the future of Liberal society, with liberty and equality as ‘the twin pillars of justice for society’, lies in recognizing that “Equality Is All We Need” [here in Medium]. Equality implies mutual respect — of a basic kind, ‘taking one another into account’. Taking that seriously as the ethic of Liberal justice would maximize liberty as a practical matter. Economically, it does not lead to socialism, but it does lead to a “democratically distributed income” that would have astonishing socioeconomic outcomes for society (though it would not ‘punish’ in any way ‘the rich’).
