Sadly, it is hard to argue against this article.

Yet, one thing we humans always have is hope. With both religion and ideology proven to be inadequate for just governance (for individuals and society as a whole) because all such attempts have involved beliefs, perhaps we might give rationality a chance. This ethic of justice involves no beliefs, either sacral/theological or secular/ideological. It would take us "Beyond Liberalism" (here in Medium, but not behind the paywall).
