One thing that could not be less necessary is to argue about why or how consciousness exists. It's like scientists and religionists arguing about how human beings came to be.

All that matters is that we are conscious of our existing and we have to deal with the material circumstances in which we perceive that we find ourselves and which affect our consciously manifest material existence.
