Many people have noted how 'Trumpism' has made the propagators of "the long con" look good in comparison. If the 'traditional Republicans' do start a new party, they will now seem eminently reasonable (a version of the old 'good-cop/bad-cop' routine). Might that make them more politically dangerous?
