I've been streaming BritBox for a while and have noticed that in the eighties southern/C&W cultural motifs including music and going beyond it (with even rebel flags) were apparently something of a presence in Scotland--as depicted in some shows, at least. I've just been curious about that.

As for the failure of those bands to catch on here in the states, mostly they seemed to me to be too close in style to music that was already here (and maybe too retro before enough time had passed for retro to be of interest).
