It's not easy to change 'the system', but that is easier than getting people to change their behavior is. There is no reason to cut back on micro-level efforts to mitigate environmental damage of all kinds, but we also need a macro-level response. I have developed one: "Overcoming Sustainability's Single Biggest Obstacle," i.e., the political imperative to maximize total output (in order to maximize employment, income, and the collection of taxes).
