It is no great trick to produce "writings that many non-philosophers can understand" when the subject is an appeal beliefs, presumptions, preconceptions, etc. that the writer and reader hold in common. It also takes no one anywhere new. Figuring out some new place to go and how to get there is the problem we face for the very idea justly governed governance. Liberalism is the best humanity had ever done in that regard. Now we have to go beyond that--or watch while justice perishes.
