In the eocnomic system that now dominates the world income is a conspicuous zero-sum game. Total income tends to increase over time, but for anyone's portion of the total to be more than the average, someone else's must be less than that.

I have learned that I am a total forager type (though all four of my grandparents' surnames denote a British ancestry: Yearwood, Cotton, Taylor, Kelly). [I don't even have a home: I sleep wherever I am working at the time.] As it happens, I have developed a monetary paradigm that provides a completely non-zero-sum (sufficient) income (for any number of citizens of any nation). I just think that's interesting.
