In reading this excellent article it occurred to me that the emergent 'far right' in the West--to include Israel--has more in common with Islamists than, say, U.S. Democrats. Some of them claim to be theologically driven, but as a group they are not ideological, except for their hatred of political liberalism. They are anti-intellectual in order to justify basing everything they do politically on their beliefs/feelings. They have disregard, if not disdain, if not contempt for science and democracy. The part of capitalism they detest is the pop-culture/marketing complex that incessantly promotes the values of tolerance and inclusion.
