I'm very familiar with the 'commons' problem. I like very much that analysis of the number of parties. I suppose it could be regulated by numbers of members: the three or four or five parties with the most official members allowed to have candidates on the ballot? Of course, 'membership' would have to be defined and made 'fair' and scrutinized, but I for one would vote for the idea.
