Academia is a closed shop. I'm not a cynic, but this idea would be the end of macroeconomics as a profession: a society with a self-regulating economy would have no use for macroeconomists.

You endorse a UBI. This is a better idea than that. It does not require "maths." It is a change in the way money (as currency) is supplied to the economy.
