I'm a 'Boomer'. The generation of which I am a member ended Jim Crow. As part of that, the political rights of Americans of (more recent) African heritage were recognized. (According to the scientists, if we look back far enough all humans are of African origin.)

I hope your generation will take up the project of extending the principle of democracy to the economy, via a "democratically distributed income." Among other good things, doing that would absolutely, positively eliminate unemployment and poverty for all citizens and increase sustainability. (Any nation could adopt that paradigm.)
