If we could solve the societal problems currently associated with the economy (economic insecurity, taxes, public debt), people’s focus would, I think, turn ‘naturally’ towards ‘cleaning up this mess’ (i.e. the mess we have made of the natural environment). It would be like when some state of affairs that was consuming all of your attention gets resolved and you look around and realize that your home needs a good cleaning.

Believe it or not, there is a way for every nation to solve all of those societal economic problems — at no cost to anyone, without having to redistribute anything, with a single legislative act: “For Crying Out Loud, ACCEPT That A SOLUTION Actually EXISTS” (a “2 min read” — including options for further reading — here in Medium).
