If the student had written "is considered by him [Kant] to be" all would have been well enough, no?

Kant was not writing about objective reality--though he was seeking to put morals on the same epistemological footing, which did end up with "objective reality" being nothing more than impressions on the mind, which raised the problem of distinguishing between them and impressions on it generated from... ... ... ah ha!: 'the' "noumenal" realm of existence. So maybe we should blame Kant--or Descartes, who started the whole mind/matter mess.

What we need is less of people's minds and more from their brains.
