“If one person cannot afford the prices of these anti-contagion and personal hygiene goods, two or more people can combine their resources to buy them. Those high prices, as many people have said, are not caused by price gouging of greedy manufacturers or sellers, they are caused by a drastic increase in the demand for those commodities against a limited supply. They are caused by scarcity. A given fact of life.”

Costs to producers and sellers have not increased. They have not been ‘forced’ by market forces to raise prices. They are willfully taking advantage of a situation to increase margins of profit.

On the income side, for a permanent solution: “For Crying Out Loud, ACCEPT That A SOLUTION Actually EXISTS” (a “2 min read” — including options for further reading — here in Medium.” Yes, I (to be clear, its author) am a bit frustrated.
