If I may, I have developed a macroeconomic paradigm that would achieve degrowth systemically. (For the record, I do have an M.A. in economics.) Crucially, it could be adopted within the existing economic system (and political system) of any nation. In it total output would be governed, passively but effectively, by demographics. Also, unemployment and poverty would be eliminated for all (adult) citizens of the nation--without having to redistribute anything or impose any cost on any employer--and using taxes/public to fund government (at any level, from local to national) would be, if not permanently eliminated, at least reset at zero.

This idea does need advocates.
