I would say it is the end of the Age of Ideology. Liberalism (/democracy) is the last one standing. China's leaders still claim to be "communists," but really? Putin is the most prominent of the emergent non-ideological authoritarians. Britain's "Brexiters' and the 'Trumpsters' of the U.S. call themselves 'conservatives', but they have no ideology: it is all emotion with all of them. It is ideology that is dying.
We need a non-ideological (and non-theological) approach to justice to preserve the good that Liberalism has brought the world, including but not limited to democracy, but will do more good for society, taking us "Beyond Liberalism" (here in Medium, but not behind the paywall).
