I wholeheartedly agree that we simply have to reduce our consumption, especially the consumption of fossil fuels: air conditioning is an absolute luxury that human beings never 'needed' until the last century. What's so horrible about a little perspiration? A fan is all you need: air from a fan flowing across skin increases evaporation--which is what air conditioning is.
