I understand that this essay presents a fully-developed perspective, but there is another path to an economy without exploitation (i.e. “wage slavery”): “A Fully Just Economy” here in Medium, for those of a curious mind.
In this paradigm businesses still exist, but the revenue of any business would be for it only, and not for anyone employed in it [including the owner(s)]. All employees of every business — and all government — would be paid a “democratically distributed income” (DDI) that would be the same for everyone who was paid it. The total of that income would be the supply of money for the economy. Private property would still exist, but the democratized income would determine the distribution of wealth over time. Initially, individual nations could adopt this paradigm, but Earth could attain a single, universal DDI.
