I understand that "climate change" is not the focus of this article, but the fact of the matter seems to be that we can no longer afford to think of that process as an esoteric or long-term issue that can rationally be put off 'for now'. At this point, the scale and the temporal proximity of the costs of global warming have to make them the only costs that can really matter in any rational mind. Any idea of making energy 'more affordable' in the present at the expense of ignoring those costs is, well, insane.
