I think that "human nature" is defined first and foremost by a need for justice. I have learned (contrary to my feelings) that the existence of differences in income/wealth, however great, has nothing to do with the issue of justice. At the same time, I have also learned how poverty can be eliminated, without redistributing anything, by making the existing economy more just.
