I regard 'neoclassicalism' as ideology in the guise of economic nomenclature. It is a political program intended to justify a 'trickle-down' economy in which decreased taxes on higher incomes and increased in government spending, using debt, feed a vortex of hyper-prosperity among the 'investor class'. Enough income dribbles into the pockets of people not in that class for us to more or less subsist.
