I just think human beings need to recognize a rigid distinction between beliefs, as knowledge that is not dependent on observation for its validity, and knowledge that depends on observation within material existence for its validity. The weaker that distinction, the more people can use 'belief' to justify rejecting valid observational knowledge, e.g. people 'not believing in' global warming or 'not believing' President Biden won the election. That is a recipe for disaster.
