I have experienced what Lister experienced. In the Fall of 1982 — 37 years ago — I realized how we could make the existing economy really just. It would also all but assure environmental sustainability — while providing the means to eliminate unemployment, poverty, taxes, and public debt. Since then I have been improving my own understanding of it while trying to get this idea accepted. [“The Revolutionary Monetary System That Can Save Civilization”]

In 1992 — 27 years ago — it was almost published in The Atlantic. James Fallows, the Editor in Chief there at the time, wrote me a warm, personal rejection letter that apologized for not publishing my submission, but just then they were publishing a series of pieces dealing with economics by, well, him (detailing how the Japanese had solved the problems of capitalism). I still have the letter.
