I do think singers' voices are their Trademarks. A painter's style might be a Trademark, too, but a painting has to be signed for authenticity (and/or expertly examined). It strikes me as straightforwardly dishonest to make a recording using what anyone hearing it would think was a famous (that is the point of the exercise) singer singing on it, with all that would imply, without a disclaimer at the least.
