I do think I have come up with a better idea than a UBI, a “democratically distributed income” (DDI). It would be free and would solve more problems. (If it matters, I do have an M.A. in economics.) Anyone who could work would have to work to be paid it, but it could be paid as easily as not to a parent (or legal guardian) in a home with at least one dependent child present.
