I do agree that the issue goes much deeper than our superficial politics reach. As the Responses of Mitch Moore and Corrado Rosca suggest, the fundamental tension between liberty and equality as 'the twin pillars of justice for society' that has always existed but was previously subordinated is now creating a political divide that threatens the existence of Liberal society. To save Liberal society we must resolve that tension. To do that "Equality Is All We Need" (here in Medium). That approach would reinforce democracy, increase the liberty, and transform the outcomes for society of the existing economy.
