I appreciate the sincerity of the desire expressed here for ‘the left’ to do better so that those who are not ‘rich’ can do better. It doesn’t have to be that way, however.

There is a way that everyone can be materially better off. Yes, that would include the richest among us, but those who are now struggling materially would gain the most: absolute economic security in place of constant anxiety.
