I agree with the premise that China is exceeding the U.S. in tech, but I reject the idea that it has "won" in the sense that its system will therefore, well, trump ours. We can apply the 'democratic distributive principle' to money to transform the outcomes for society of our existing economy: make it self-regulating while eliminating unemployment, poverty, taxes, and public debt and increasing sustainability — with still no limit on income/wealth. All of that could be accomplished with (in the U.S.) a single Act of Congress. Top that, China!

Not only is ignoring this proposal irrational, at this point for us to ignore it as a nation is to assure the collapse of our Liberal way of life(i.e., one with a democratic political process and the rule of law with maximizing liberty as its primary concern).
